#TeamRhino #SaveTheRhino #SaveFive

Raising Awareness to protect our #WildLife, Please take the pledge: I would like to join #TeamRhinodotorg in the fight against rhino poaching to ensure a future for people and vulnerable wildlife on our planet: I will never buy or promote any products made of rhino horn, as I know that demand drives poaching. I will be a committed advocate to support rangers and others on the frontlines of rhino conservation. I will share my passion about rhino conservation and recruit my friends and family to become involved. I will urge my government to continue championing efforts to stop rhino poaching at home and abroad. I will stand with IRF to help save rhinos from extinction. teamrhino.org

July 4th 2017 An Art Installation of Colonialism Is Pulled Through Philadelphia

Looking to erase stigmas i joined EDGE in taking this Colonialism Art Installation on a tour of Olde City Philadelphia. The installation was gifted to EDGE by a Navajo Nation (Black Mesa) artist friend with the expectation that EDGE use in a way that would, simply put, lead to white people doing the labor to support groups led by people of color/impacted communities. We got the piece on thursday, did a test run on friday. Saturday was smooth sailing through the birth place of colonialism.

Excellent for creating conversations about the attacks to our earth and most vulnerable members of society. We walked the piece from 5th and Arch to 10th and Arch to Locust and back to liberty bell. The Womanist Working Collective spoke along with Indigenous215. i sang freedom, freedom, freedom for all, not because of my complexion, not because of how much money i make or who i know. because i'm human!!

From the artist:
For the #ClimateMarch, I was given the instructions from NGOs and non-profits to create a collapsible art piece, such as a banner or parachute to display the connected Indigenous struggles of #BlackMesa and #StandingRock.

My piece was a middle finger to those parameters because Indigenous history and struggle will not be collapsible or relegated to a predetermined space, especially on our own land.

Much to the dismay of the NGO's and non-profits typical to these self congratulatory mass mobilizations which are often rife with such hollow and often traitorous messaging such as, #KeepItInTheGround, my installation addressed some of the root causes of climate change on OUR continent - #Colonization, #Genocide and #Racism.

The giant arrows protruding from this vehicle of death represents our historical response as Indigenous people to colonization. Each arrow was categorized into ideas, actions and values and had subsequent messaging for each arrow such as, Retribution, Reparations, Sovereignty and Feminize(glittered). The pièce de résistance was the special effects of fire and smoke billowing out of the covered wagon as it rolled from the United States Capitol down Pennsylvania Avenue towards the White House.
