Digging for votes, playing into the powers that can't handle the diversity in our communities. Those who want to impose their values and beliefs through politics and ignore our cultural differences. Way to go City Councilwoman Cindy Bass using divide and conquer methods to attack small businesses that aren't hurting anyone while you allow big air polluting companies to enter our city and destroy our cities air quality.
When will we as mature adults wake up and take a stand for our rights and comforts. We know what, who and how goes on in our communities. These attacks are on our right to have access to adult drinks in adult settings that also provide snacks for adults to enjoy. Not sure about you but i frequent Stop & Go and there are never any children in those stores. The store is labeled as an adult drinking establishment that adults like myself want access to. The argument of Plexiglas was used to say that the Plexiglas is the barrier creating so much of the chaos in the community. If business have to use Plexiglas then they don't need to be in our communities was part of that argument. My thought was does that goes for mom and pop pharmacies as well? The barrier is actually protecting the ability for adults to have access to adult drinks and relax from the chaos often caused by neglectful elected officials.
Now the argument is that the business is an eating establishment and should have proper seating and restrooms. What customer asked for this? We can frequent Lou & Choo's or Mr. Hooks on Germantown Ave. if that is the atmosphere we are looking for. Who are the we that want this? Probably the same folks who have problems with McDonald's being a hang out for our youth when they should be in school. Whose concern is this? If this is the argument then the next one will be we don't like the people who frequent these establishments. Which is truly part of the bottom line of this bill playing for super voters. That and that some are creating great economics for their families and don't have to endure corporate or nonprofit headaches.
Divide & Conquer Tactics:
1. Play on the tension between the cultures of Asian store owners and African Americans
2.Bully the small business that aren't hurting anybody and puts them self in danger
3.Create Fake Arguments about how the small business operates
4.Change The Bill so that only the target gets the blow
5.Never Talked to consumers, community or business owners together to resolve the issue until the bill was on it's way to introduction which means there is no talking with those affected by the bullshit bill.
