March 3, 2015 Women's Herstory Month, I attended Women’s Way 12th Annual Women’s and Influence Conference Saturday, February 28th. Women’s Way is magnifying the voice of women in undesirable situations by supporting the communities of women focused organizations, educating youth and adults in our communities and addressing legislative issues. http://womensway.org/
I hope to meet Ms. Natasha Kelemen, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Immigration & Citizenship Coalition http://www.paimmigrant.org/, and Blanca Pacheco, Community Organizer for the New Sanctuary Movement who opened the conference by sharing the great work they are doing to protect immigrant families in abusive and violent situations. Women who come to this country looking for a better way for their families often encounter obstacle due to the lack of knowing their rights. The Pennsylvania Immigration & Citizenship Coalition and New Sanctuary http://www.sanctuaryphiladelphia.org/ are working with law enforcement to protect the undocumented victim of violence.
A major victory manifested when Mayor Michael Nutter’s created an executive order to limit collaboration between Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This equal less domestic violence.
There is a movement to protect undocumented citizens, to learn more visit: http://thinkprogress.org/immigration/2014/09/26/3570441/places-worship-openly-protecting-immigrants/

These women have to endure various challenges to become a free citizen of our country. Learned so much that i plan to invite these women to the Google Hangout to share their advocacy with
